Incoming graduate or law student?

Welcome to Boston College! There are a number of things you need to do now that you have matriculated. Visit the Incoming Graduate Student Checklist and Incoming Law Student Checklist for more information.

The 2024–2025 returning undergraduate financial aid application priority deadline was April 1.

If you are a returning undergraduate student, you will receive a financial aid award notification later in the summer, after all application requirements have been received and reviewed.  To check the status of your financial aid application, please visit you.selenaumbrella.net/finaidapp.

Due to the 2024–2025 FAFSA Simplification process, institutions are experiencing a slow transfer of FAFSA data, and many applicants are experiencing glitches and processing errors.  In most cases, our office cannot provide guidance on FAFSA processing errors.  In order to resolve issues with your FAFSA application, please contact the Federal Student Aid Information Center 1-800-433-3243 or visit the FAFSA Help Center.  There will be no penalty or reduction in the amount of aid awarded if your FAFSA is received late, however, you will need to resolve your FAFSA issues before receiving a financial aid award notification.

Please visit our FAFSA Simplification Act page for more information.

Graduate and Law students, note the start of the 2024–2025 financial aid application process.

Graduate and Law students, the 2024–2025 FAFSA is now available. Visit our website selenaumbrella.net/gradaid for a link to the FASFA and required forms for Graduate and Law financial aid.

We suggest students complete the form now to allow ample time for processing. The Department of Education has informed schools that they will not be providing schools access to the FAFSA data until mid-to-late March. We are unable to assist with any specific questions you may have related to your FAFSA until we gain access to this FAFSA data. For more detailed information, please visit our FAFSA Simplification Act page.

Enroll in QuikPAY Payment Plan (undergraduate and Law students).

Enrollment for the QuikPAY Payment Plan (available to undergraduate and Law students only) will begin on May 2 for the 2024–2025 academic year. For more information, visit you.selenaumbrella.net/qppp.

Looking for a job?

The Summer 2024 job opportunities are available on the Student Employment Job Listings page. The BC Career Center offers plenty of resources as well as tips on writing great resumes and cover letters when applying for student jobs. The current 2023–2024 Academic Year job listings will remain open until May 19, 2024. For students who have secured an on-campus job for the first time, please be sure to bring forms of identification (such as but not limited to, a valid/unexpired U.S. Passport, or a combination of a valid driver’s license or Eagle ID card and Social Security card or birth certificate) in original formats. No pictures or photocopies will be accepted. A full list of acceptable documents for Form I-9 completion can be found on the USCIS website. International F-1 students will need to bring in their valid Foreign Passport along with their Forms I-94 and I-20 and Employment Authorization Letter from the Office of International Students and Scholars (OISS).

Are you a student veteran?

If you would like your veteran status noted in EagleApps, please contact Linda Malenfant at linda.malenfant@selenaumbrella.net.

Review notices and disclosures.

Students should review the Family Educational Rights and Privacy Act (FERPA) information on our Notices and Disclosures page.

Ongoing Reminders

Sign a Direct Loan Master Promissory Note (if applicable).

Visit the Federal Student Aid website for more information.

Complete Title IV Authorization (if applicable).

Federal regulations require that Title IV funds credited to your student account be applied only to cover allowable charges, unless Boston College obtains authorization to apply these funds to all other charges on your student account. You may submit your authorization electronically at you.selenaumbrella.net/myservices. For more information, visit the Billing page.

Complete Direct Loan Entrance Counseling (if applicable).

Visit the Federal Student Aid website for more information.

Enroll in direct deposit for student account refunds (if applicable).

We recommend that all students use direct deposit when requesting refunds. Refunds processed via direct deposit are faster and do not require pickup. Visit the Billing page for instructions and more information.
